Bluegrass Banjo

It's never too late to start banjo! Randy has more than 35 years of experience teaching beginners to advanced players. The goal is always good technique, clear tone and an emphasis on learning the basic bluegrass repertoire and jamming etiquette.

Clawhammer Banjo

This rhythmic style is a mainstay of old time music and has a groove, kick and lore all its own. Randy teaches basic strumming, double thumbing and drop thumb techniques to learners of all ages.

Fiddle

Fiddle is the mother tongue of both old time and bluegrass music. Its roots are steeped in melodies from Ireland, Scotland, Acadia, England and from American slaves on the plantation. It was always the center of the dance, driving the band and making Saturday nights happen in barns across America. Randy teaches both old time and bluegrass styles with a focus on correct technique, bow hold and posture.  (Don't worry, it never gets too stuffy.)
